Anonymous asked: hey there, i was wondering if i could bother you for some advice. you seem really level-headed and i kind of trust your input and opinion. so i feel like i'm horribly overwhelmed with university and i'm taking a course that's kind of useless to me and i just want to focus on my other courses rather than stress about this one so i was thinking about dropping the course. i feel kind...

Today was beautiful. I am so, so, so close to finishing my book and finding out who stole the moonstone. My closet is finally finished. Work was great and I managed to pick up another shift tomorrow. I’ve worked every day this week; all of these extra shifts are going to help me so much with saving for my trip this summer. On the way home, the bus driver and I had a little chat and giggled a...

Tonight Ayman and I went to the art gallery. I marveled at Cornelius Krieghoff’s work once more. I swear, I will own one of his pieces before I die. It’s amazing how one artist can produce so much and yet every painting shows consistent quality. We sort of planned out the jewelry organizer we’re going to try making together. Creative projects, aw. Also, I had falafel for the...

This week is turning out to be all sorts of amazing. Went thrifting with Patty today and got three chunky sweaters and a really nice scarf, plus some storage bins for my closet. Got my government cheque in the mail. My fridge is full of fresh fruit and my mom bought me a ton of soup mixes. I’m racking up hours at work. Things are looking up. Happy reading week. xo

The other night, at a family function, I overheard my mother trying to describe me: “Yeah, Natalie’s really…artsy. Like, everything is art and peace and happiness and loving everything. She’s one of those yoga people that loves the entire universe, you know? And she’s a vegetarian and a tree hugger so that stuff is like…right up her alley.” Yes, mom....

Anonymous asked: It happening again, you can tell...What's even more disappointing is that you're letting it win this time. You fought so hard last year and you beat it. By yourself, might I add. You think that people don't know the real reason behind why you started smoking again? Come on, Nat. You're starting to run away from things, again. It wasn't his fault last time and it's not...

I think that I’ve been upset and binged more times these past few  months than in the last entire year. And if you knew me last year, you know how bad this is.

I’ve been having a really tough time managing school, lately. Everything is overwhelming and I’ve been underperforming on my midterms. I think it takes a lot of strength to step back for a second and admit to yourself that you are capable of what you want to accomplish. Academia is only frightening for those who dislike hard-work and dedication.  Tonight I found myself chanting...
